ENTRY TO THE 2009 BAXTERS LOCH NESS MARATHON, BAXTERS RIVER NESS 10K, 10K CORPORATE CHALLENGE, BAXTERS RIVER NESS 5K FUN RUN AND HIGHLAND BREAKFAST RUN IS NOW OPEN.
Baxters Loch Ness Marathon
- First come, first served - Entries are guaranteed on a first come, first served basis until 1st May or if race limit is reached, whichever is sooner. After this date, there will only be charity assured places available via our nominated or associated charities, and places for club and overseas runners.
- Charity Places - Over 40 charities have guaranteed places available until 14 September 2009. Visit our charities pages for a full listing of all participating charities. To secure your guaranteed charity place, please contact your chosen charity direct.
- Club runners - Guaranteed places are available to club runners until 14 September 2009 or sooner if race is full. Early Bird rate available until 1 May 2009. Members of Scottish Athletics and runners affiliated to a Scottish Athletics club are entitled to discounted entry in the Loch Ness Marathon and River Ness 10K. To receive this discount please enter a valid Scottish Athletics number on entry form.
- Overseas entry - If you live outside the UK or have an overseas passport you can register until 14 September 2009 or sooner if race is full. Early Bird rate available until 1 May 2009. Overseas entry only available online.
- Open to runners aged 18 and over on day of race.
Baxters River Ness 10K
- Entry until 14 September 2009 or sooner if race is full.
- Early Bird rate available until 1 August 2009.
- Demand will be high so please enter soon to avoid disappointment.
- Open to runners aged 16 and over on day of race.
Healthy Working Lives 10K Corporate Challenge (part of Baxters River Ness 10K)
- Entry is open until 14 September 2009 or sooner if race is full.
- The 10K Corporate Challenge is open to businesses large and small
- Companies may enter more than one team
- Teams must contain a minimum of 4 runners and up to a maximum of 6 runners. Incomplete teams will not be accepted.
- All entries must be from bona fide employees of the company. An employee cannot be entered into more than one team.
- All entrants must agree to the standard terms and conditions of the event.
- Each team must nominate a team captain who will be responsible for entering the team online, receiving and distributing the race numbers and event information packs.
- Prizes will be awarded according to the accumulated results of the first four runners in each team.
- Open to runners aged 16 and over on day of race.
- This event is not suitable for wheelchair entrants.
Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run
- Entry until 14 September 2009 or enter on race weekend.
- Open to runners of all ages and abilities including wheelchair entrants.
Highland Breakfast Run
- Entry until 14 September 2009.
- Open to runners of all ages and abilities including wheelchair entrants.
Important Entry Information
- Events held under Scottish Athletics permit and the course is AIMS certified.
- Absolutely no race day entries for the Marathon or 10K.
- Limited number of 5K Fun Run entries only will be taken on race weekend.
- Entry fees, related tickets and purchases are non-refundable.
- We do not operate a deferment system.
- No transfers between races or transfer of places to another runner.
- Successful applicants will receive confirmation by email so please include your email address when entering. If you do not have email please check your bank statement for confirmation of race entry.
- Race information will be sent to marathon runners from May onwards and 10K runners will receive their race packs in September.

Pasta Party
Tickets are available to purchase now. All tickets are collected at pre-race registration on the Saturday for marathon, 10K, Corporate Challenge and 5K runners.
Payment
Once registration details are entered, the website will take you to 'PROTX', a secure site, where payment can be made. If, however, you prefer to pay by cheque, after completing your registration details as normal, you will be given the option to print off an 'invoice' which can then be sent in along with your payment.
Cheques should be made payable to "Loch Ness Marathon" and sent to Loch Ness Marathon, PO Box 26, Muir of Ord IV6 7WZ.
Conditions of Entry
Conditions of Entry: By entering the race, you agree to abide by these Conditions of Entry and any race instructions given to you by the organisers and officials of the 2009 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, 5K Fun Run and Highland Breakfast Run.
For reasons of safety: Entries are not permissible from people on roller skates, wheelbarrows or carrying various objects for charity etc in any race. Children in pushchairs are permitted in the 5K only.
Entry Fee: All entry fees, related tickets and purchases are non-refundable. No transfers between races or transfer of places to another runner.
No Animals: Animals will not be permitted with the exception of guide dogs; arrangements for guide dogs must be made with the organisers ahead of the event.
Medical Condition: It is strongly recommended that you train for the run and prepare for the challenge. All participants are strongly advised to consult their doctor prior to undertaking any exercise programme or running event. It is the responsibility of all participants to ensure they are medically fit to participate in the event.
Race Memento: Only finishers will receive a medal, t-shirt and goody bag. Race numbers are NOT interchangeable. Non-participants are NOT eligible for race mementos.
Use of Image: By entering the race you give permission for the free use of your name, voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event.
Event Cancellation: The event will only be cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. In such an eventuality all participants will be notified by email as soon as possible. The organiser's entire liability in respect of all costs and expenses you may incur as a result of such cancellation or delay will solely be the entry price you have paid to take part in the event.
Collection & Use of Information: I acknowledge and agree that my personal information (including medical information entered on my race number or collected by Event staff during or after the Event) can be stored, used and disclosed by the Organiser in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the Event and for the compilation of statistical information.
Data Protection: The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, 10K and 5K Fun Run comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and you have the right of access to personal records held on the organiser's computer on written request.
Your name will be added to the organiser's mailing list so that we can keep you informed about the other events and activities of the event organisers.
Race Numbers: For safety reasons and primarily for identification by medical staff, the swapping, sale, resale or transfer of race numbers is strictly prohibited. Participants must complete their details and sign the back of their race number prior to the event.
Race Ejection: The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entrant's attendance at or participation in the Loch Ness Marathon, River Ness 10K and 5K.
We strive to organise safe and enjoyable running events and hope that you will help us in achieving this. Any participant who is found in breach of these terms and conditions will be excluded from future events. Please do not put someone else at risk.
5K Fun Run: Participants aged 0-8 in the 5K Fun Run must be accompanied by an adult (parent, friend or relative). Participants aged 9-16 do not have to be accompanied by an adult unless there is a special requirement that necessitates adult accompaniment.

Change of Address: If your address details change after you have submitted your application you must notify the organisers by email info@lochnessmarathon.com.
Organiser: The organiser is Loch Ness Marathon Ltd, a company incorporated under the Companies Acts with Company Number SC312511 and having its registered office at PO Box 26, Muir of Ord, IV6 7WZ.
Disclaimer
I confirm that I have read, understood and accept all the conditions of entry above. I confirm that I am taking part in the event entirely at my own risk. I acknowledge that the organisers shall not be liable for death, personal injury, loss or damage arising from my participation in or as a consequence of my participation in the 2009 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, 5K Fun Run and Highland Breakfast Run, howsoever caused, except with regard to death or personal injury which is caused by the organiser's negligence.
I understand that all entry fees, related tickets and purchases are non-refundable and no transfers between races or transfer of places to another runner can take place.
