EZEKIEL CHERUP WINS 2008 BAXTERS LOCH NESS MARATHON

NEW COURSE RECORD FOR BAXTERS RIVER NESS 10K

Ezekiel Cherup was the winner of the 2008 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon today (Sunday 5 October), crossing the finish line in a time of 2 hours 28 minutes and 5 seconds. Runner up was David Kirkland of Alnwick Harriers (2:28:34). In third place was Marcus Scotney from Dumfries Running Club (2:34:46).

RECORD ENTRIES FOR BAXTERS LOCH NESS MARATHON & FESTIVAL OF

A record number of 5,851 entries have been received for the 2008 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running, which takes place on Sunday (5 October). Over 5,850 runners will take part in this weekend's festival: 2,285 in the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, 2,494 in the Baxters River Ness 10K, 252 in the Healthy Working Lives 10K Corporate Challenge and 820 in the Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run.

LOCH NESS MARATHON IN RUNNING FOR 2008 THISTLE AWARD

The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running has been shortlisted for the second year running for a prestigious VisitScotland Scottish Thistle Award. The Marathon is one of three finalists in the Regional Events and Festival category. The 2008 winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony in Edinburgh on the 24th October.

CALLING SCHOOLS, YOUTH CLUBS & DISABILITY GROUPS TO JOIN THE

Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running is calling on all schools, youth clubs and disability groups to get involved in the 2008 Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run on 5 October this year. The 5K Fun Run offers people of all ages and abilities an opportunity to be part of the North of Scotland's largest sporting event.
